  • submissions made from 31/5 Friday 00:00 IST to 02/5 Sunday 23:59 IST will be returned with a decision within 24 hours.

  • If you are a woman, Person of Colour, non-binary, LGBTQ, indigenous or belonging to any other marginalised community, or are young (13-25 years), please feel free to identify yourself in the cover letter. Though open to people from all around the word, at Zhagaram we prioritize submissions from people of historically marginalized communities.

  • Submit just one poem that you think fits best with our current theme.

DETAILED GUIDELINES

  • All submitted work must belong to the person making the submission. Any form of plagiarism won't be tolerated.

  • Work must not be previously published

  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed. Please make sure you withdraw your work as soon as possible if your work is accepted before we could. 

  • Submissions must be sent as a Word or PDF file

  • If your submission has been accepted, please submit again only after one year has passed. If your work was not accepted, you're free to submit again in the next submission period.

  • We do not appreciate work that promotes any form of hatred.

  • Mention content warnings wherever necessary.

  • If you have any doubts regarding submissions, please feel free to email us with the subject: QUERY

FORMAT

  • Submit only one poem

  • Poems must be single spaced, 12 pt and in Times New Roman font.

  • Title your document as: Your Name - First Poem Title

  • If your poem has words from other languages, please include their meanings at the end of the page.
